I'm sure people have noticed I don't make/wear or post about costumes very much anymore. Cosplay has been a huge part of my life, it helped me make friends when I didn't really have many and it got me into sewing which is the biggest part of my life now.
Over the years I slowly stopped cosplaying, not because I didn't like it anymore but because I kept gaining weight. After a few major surgeries my weight really shot up the last couple years and I was not happy with how I looked and was upset my costumes I worked so hard on didn't fit me anymore.
I tried to keep cosplaying since I loved it so much, but I just felt awful and uncomfortable when wearing my costumes. It made me sad looking at myself, and I didn't enjoy it anymore.
I don't know why, or what made me do it, but in November last year I decided I was going to lose weight and try and get back to the weight I was when I enjoyed cosplaying. So far I've lost 36 pounds! I'm still not super happy with how I look, and I have a ways to go before I'm done, but I am really proud of myself. I actually feel like cosplaying again, and a lot of my old costumes fit me too!
I'm working on a new costume for Anime Detour, and I'm really excited but nervous about it. I posted a few things about it before on my FB page, but you'll see some more cosplay work now! I even have another costume picked out for Ai-Kon in the summer to make~
TLDR; Losing weight, and cosplay work will resume, so more photos and updates about them will be posted.
